Can I pick up other member's books on my card?

Yes, but you are personally responsible for any charges incurred for late, missing or damaged items. In essence, the book is signed out to you and you're letting a friend use it.

Can we suggest purchases?

Yes! Suggestions to purchase will go to the staff responsible for purchasing book club items. Staff will then decide if your suggestion meets our book club selection criteria.

Do we have to come to the Main Branch to pick up and drop off items?

Yes. Book club items must be picked up at the Main Branch but can be returned to the Beaty Branch.

What happens if I pick up my book after the one week hold period?

Your loan period will be shortened to ensure that all 10 book club titles return about the same time so that they are available for other book clubs. Example: Book club titles have a 4 week loan period. If your book is picked up 2 weeks later than it is scheduled to be picked up, the loan period will be reduced by 2 weeks. It will be due the same time as the other group members' books.

How far in advance can I reserve a book club title?

Three months.

What are the late fees?

The late fees are the same as our regular adult late fees. More about late fees.

Can book club items be renewed?

There are no renewals for book club items.

Can our external club meet at the library?

No.

When do I pick up my books?

You specify your pick up preference when reserving titles. You will be contacted when your books are ready for pick up.
