The Milton Public Library empowers the community to: Read. Learn. Create. Connect. The library offers a variety of programs and services to the Milton community including:
- Manage Your Library Account in-person, by phone, or online
- Borrow books, DVDs, CDs, magazines and more
- Interlibrary Loans
- Online Library including eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMusic, eVideo, eLearning, eMagazines and research resources
- Programs for children, teens and adults
- Internet and wireless access in the library
- Black & white and colour printing, wireless printing and 3D printing
- Public and Children's Early Literacy Computer Stations
- Chromebook Laptop Lending within the Library

Exam Proctoring Service
Exam Proctoring Service
Milton Public Library supports lifelong learning and is happy to help you meet your educational goals. MPL offers exam proctoring for a fee of $40 + HST based on availability and staffing. Although we check on students occasionally, we do not have the ability to invigilate at this time. Please ensure your educational institution is supportive of MPL's approach.
Guidelines:
- A minimum of seven (7) days' notice is required.
- Although staff will attempt to meet the student's needs, it may not be possible to approve every request.
- Exams must be taken within regular library hours and must be completed no later than thirty (30) minutes before closing.
- Your exam will be monitored by an available staff member. It is not possible to request a specific person.
- The library will enforce reasonable conditions set forth in the exam materials. Students will be checked on periodically but will not be monitored continuously during an exam.
- The library is not responsible for completed exams that do not reach the educational institution by the deadline date.
- No special room is available to students taking the exam. A desk will be reserved for them in the silent study room where others may be working.
- Online exams:
- The library does not offer laptops to students for online exams.
- Students must provide their own laptops as per institution approval.
- A Milton Public Library card is required to have an exam proctored.

Who Can Join?
You must be:
- A Milton resident
- Homebound or institutionalized for three months or longer, due to age, illness or disability
- Have a volunteer or visitor come regularly to your home (e.g.: a relative or neighbour, church visitors, Allendale volunteers, Halton Helping Hands, ...)
How to Join
Have your visitor stop at the Milton Public Library for a Homebound Service application and selection guide, and if necessary, a library card registration form.
How it Works?
When you fill out a selection profile with us we use it to help us choose materials you would like. We then sign them out for you and have them ready for your volunteer to pick up and deliver to you.

- DVDs (special arrangements would need to be made as these have a shorter loan period)

Do you live in Ward Three or the rural areas of Ward One? Then this service may be for you!
Here's How It Works
- To be eligible, patrons must be able to access the Milton Public Library catalogue.
- Search the catalogue, and place a hold on the item you would like to borrow. When it is available, we will mail the book to you.
- When you are finished, re-use the envelope and, using the return lable that will be provided, mail it back to the Library.
- You need to have Internet access and an email account to participate.
How do you sign up?

Please Note:
- We will mail only one book at a time (unless they are really tiny!) and ask that you package them the same way when you return them.
- We are limiting the service to print material for now - no A/V.
- Materials from other libraries brought in by interlibrary loan will still need to be picked up at the Milton library.
- If you have a "B" box, the package should fit in it. If, for some reason, the package is not delivered, you may have to pick it up at the Post Office. Your pickup location is usually still closer than the library.
Microfilm Reader
Microfilm / Microfiche Reader
One machine is available at the Main Library for viewing microfilm and microfiche.
Bring your own microfilm or inter-library loan in reels or fiche to view on site or browse our collection.
Please call to book the microfilm / microfiche reader. You can book the machine for a 2 hour time slot up to 3 days in advance. To book the machine, please call 905-875-2665 extension 3263.

You can access these services and more online at the Milton Public Library! When visiting the library we invite you to access these services through the library's public Internet workstations and wireless service.
